Luminaire Orchestra
We are Luminaire Orchestra, a chamber orchestra launched in 2021 by musical director and conductor Alex Parker that specialises in musical theatre repertoire.
The orchestra is made up of a hand-picked group of musicians and include a significant number of outstanding leaders, soloists and members of many musicals’ Orchestras in London’s West End and around the country as well as members from many distinguished ensembles.
Our aim is to create exceptional performances of the repertoire of this much loved genre.
The orchestra made their debut at Cadogan Hall in November 2021 with an evening of Overtures from musicals. In July 2022, they presented an evening of Stephen Sondheim’s music and most recently in January 2024, an evening of Jerry Herman’s music.
